The inventive words and worlds of Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft

During my time as Oxford Dictionaries intern at the New York City office of Oxford University Press, I created a number of different blog articles for Oxford Dictionaries’ “OxfordWords” blog (now “Lexico”), with subjects based around where language and literature intersect. This particular article focuses on the language used by horror authors Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft.
